Your Brand is not your company name, logo, website, or your most recent brochure. A Brand is what your customers, suppliers, investors, employees, business members and the public think, say, and believe about your company. It is the history and public perception of your company. It is your ‘company’s reputation’. Branding is the art of setting yourself apart from everyone else.
What is your story and how do you tell it? Public perception can be influenced and changed through the story of your company. Your story can include both the past and future. Your story should be genuine and factual and include the values, goals and history of your company.
Branding can be difficult to understand. When done properly it can be the most valuable asset of your business. A brand can be sold or franchised. A couple you may be familiar with are Walt Disney and Wal-Mart. Although very different, they both have very distinct brands. One brand is for very high quality the other for lower priced products. Both are very successful in their industry.
"The Story Of Branding" BY Martin Lindstrom will help you understand how telling the story of your company can influence the value of the services or products your company provides.
